Associate Priest - Mother Natasha Woodward

Mother Natasha was born in Canada, went to school in Northern Ireland, and feels right at home in London. After university she worked for a few years at the Bank of England and then in the chaplaincy at King’s College London. She trained for ordination in Cambridge, and served curacies in Crayford and Orpington, both in Kent.

She continues to fit in part-time postgraduate research at King’s College into Austin Farrer’s theology of vocation, and singing alto in Pegasus, a chamber choir.

Hon. Assistant Priest - Canon Rodney Matthews
Rodney was born and grew up in Woodford, Essex. He left Bancroft’s school at the age of 16 to pursue a career in the Merchant Navy, serving, among other things, as a RNR Midshipman with the 2nd Submarine Squadron.
Rodney left the Merchant Navy (by now a Second Officer) in 1961 and began theological training at Salisbury in 1962.
He served his Title at Great Clacton with Holland-on-Sea and has since been a Warden of Ordinands for two Deaneries, Assistant Rural Dean of Redbridge and Chaplain to the Sail Training Association and the Mothers’ Union.
Rodney’s churchmanship is varied; he enjoys the breadth of tradition in the Church of England and values its traditional roots. He also values his role as an honorary member of staff in the Parish.

Reader - Elizabeth Price
Elizabeth arrived in Chingford in 2005 after working in Spain for fifteen years.
She was born in Whitechapel (a bona fide Cockney girl!) and educated at Central Foundation Girls' School in Spitalfields. In the mid 1980s she studied in South India for an advanced teaching diploma in yoga and remedial massage. She now works as a senior administrator at Queen Mary University of London where she also assists the college chaplain with lunch time services.
Elizabeth is a Volunteer Assistant Chaplain and member of the Eucharistic Ministry Team at Whipps Cross Hospital. She also leads the parish bereavement support group, Friends Indeed.
Elizabeth loves to read, sing, dance, travel and generally enjoy life. She is an accomplished vegetarian chef and an adoring grandmother to Isobel and Natasha. In other words, a very unlikely Reader but a very enthusiastic one!
